Chapter 1345

---

Elsa tilted her head, her expression dripping with arrogance. “You’re saying I can’t take down Hannah?”
“No, not at all!”
Joselyn jumped to her defense. “But if by some twist Hannah wins, she’ll rub it in your face, Miss Austin!”
“Hey, Miss Austin, sometimes a little cunning can be to our advantage, right?”
Elsa seemed to ponder this. Her certainty was wavering.
Seeing Elsa’s hesitation, Joselyn pounced. “It’s not your fault, Miss Austin. Hannah made the first move with Mr. Lyons. She’s thrown morals out the window, so why stress over it?”
Joselyn figured Elsa would come around but to her surprise, Elsa resisted!
“Forget it!”
Elsa shook her head. “Competition’s competition. Even if she’s shady, I stick to my principles!”
“Now she is all about principles?! Everyone knows the beef between the Lyons and her family. She’s been chasing Mr. Lyons shamelessly. Where were her principles then?” Joselyn muttered under her breath.
Elsa turned to Joselyn, ending the discussion. “Let’s drop it. I’m winning fair and square!”
“Got it. If you’re cool with it, no more words from me.”

As Elsa headed out, she turned back to Joselyn. “Let’s keep this between us. I want no one else knowing.”

“That is fine by me. I wasn’t planning on spilling.”
Joselyn grinned at Elsa reassuringly. “Trust me, Miss Austin, my lips are sealed.”
After Elsa left, Joselyn’s demeanor hardened. Closing the door firmly, she stepped out, only to bump into Amelie, just done with her chores.
Joselyn wasted no time. “Mom.”
Amelie’s voice sliced through the air, icy and distant. “Why are you here?”
Not eager to escalate matters, Joselyn hurriedly explained, “Miss Austin dropped by. We were scheming on how to outmaneuver Hannah together. But Miss Austin chickened out. I figured… I’d chat with you, Mom.”
Amelie gestured to dismiss the people lingering nearby. “If she won’t bite, nudge her. Let someone else take the fall while you enjoy the perks.”
Now Joselyn caught on to Amelie’s plan. “Mom’s saying I should twist things and pin it on Miss Austin.”
Amelie arched an eyebrow, a glint of calculation in her eyes. “Make sure she won’t be able to prove squat.”
“Got it, Mom. I’m on it.”
Once she’d spoken, Joselyn pretended concern. “Mom, about the race… Did anything go wrong?”
